Ambulatory Care Clinics

Neurosurgery Clinic at the Gordon & Leslie Diamond Health Care Centre

The residents may attend an outpatient Neurosurgery Clinic in the Academic Ambulatory Care Centre. New consultations as well as follow up visits with patients with whom they have been involved are seen under the supervision of one of the faculty neurosurgeons. Junior residents are assigned offices during their rotation. Senior residents attend when able. In addition, offices are available throughout the week with various staff that residents are encouraged to attend when free on an informal basis.

Brenda and David Mclean Integrated Spine Clinics at the Blusson Spinal Cord Centre

These are multidisciplinary clinics run by neurosurgical and orthopaedic spine surgeons as well as physiatry and generalist/chiropractor. They occur though out the week and residents while they are on the spine service are expected to attend the clinics with the staff surgeon they are assigned. A resident will attend 1-2 clinics per week.

Lion’s Gate Hospital Ambulatory Clinic

The residents are expected to attend private offices of the Neurosurgeons during their LGH rotations 1-2 days per week. In addition residents attend a rapid access spine clinic where approximately 50 new patients per week are seen.

Pediatric Neurosurgery Ambulatory Clinic

The resident will conduct an office clinic with one of the staff, when there is no Neuro-oncology Clinic.

Pediatric Spinal Cord Clinic

This is a multidisciplinary clinic for children with myelomeningocele and other spinal cord abnormalities. The neurosurgical attending staff and resident will attend the clinic to perform neurosurgical follow up assessments of these patients.

Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Clinic

A multidisciplinary clinic for brain tumour patients, conducted once per month.
